From Purebred Cattle to Citrus and Dryland Wheat
Homesteaded in 1887 under the name Dennis Ranch, Bennett Land and Cattle operates in the picturesque foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains in Ducor, California. Starting as a dryland wheat and Hereford operation, the ranch has progressed to incorporate purebred registered Shorthorns and Herefords, as well as a commercial cow-calf herd and citrus ranch.
We have spent countless hours researching genetics and traits to help us produce a herd that is modern and functional in all types of environments. Our personal goal has been to develop a Shorthorn cow herd that produces progeny that is a viable option for commercial cattlemen.
Alongside our cattle operation, we take pride in managing a citrus ranch that focuses on both popular consumer varieties, like easy-peel oranges, and traditional staples, such as navel and Valencia oranges. At present, we grow more than ten varieties of oranges and lemons and will continue to adapt our groves to meet evolving market and consumer demands.
The Bennett Family
Bennett Land and Cattle is owned and operated by the Bennett Family. The family includes Mike and Marti Bennett (owners) and their children and grandchildren: Matt (son), Janella, Abby, and Henry Bennett; Adam (son) and Mackenzie Bennett; Casey (son), Amanda, and Wyatt Bennett; Ernie, Brooke (daughter), Charlie, and Claire Kratina; Jared (son), Courtney, Emery, Elliott, Everly and Noah Castle.
